Sole lead within Guild Competition for the Creation of a Journeyman’s Piece
“Opposites attract” were the words of the jury when describing the fascinating effect of the TV-furniture piece by Niko Szydlowski, who won the guild competition. He created a journeyman’s piece by creating contrasts and by using opposites as an artistic feature. Black and white as strongest brightness contrast – the effect being distinctively classy.
Also round, milled and recessed pulls within the rectangular front panels were set. Altogether those elements appear as square and the circular and the milled out pulls as connective element creating a fully harmonious effect. As additional artistic feature Niko Szydlowski used light. The cover plate of the furniture piece seems to float on a light-band. This effect being created by integrated light strips that have been distributed asymmetrically within the cover plate. Using a color changer, the framing as well as the light strips at the top of the TV-furniture piece glow in different colors. A real piece of jewelry has been created – Congratulations!
